A Major Credit Company Is Going To Start Letting You Pay For Things With Selfies

It's 2016 and selfies are officially taking over the world.
MasterCard - a maaaajor credit company - are gonna be testing the new selfie payment technology and accepting your pretty face as a legitimate form of payment authentication. SRSLY.
Basically, it's all thanks to facial recognition technology, that companies can use to verify a consumer's identity like they would using a fingerprint, or pin number.

So no, your face isn't gonna transform into a million quid and get you loads of stuff for free, but it will be able to pay for things instead of having to type in your pin number or tap your contactless card.
According to The Cut, the new system will ask that consumers blink as they take their selfie, to provide "proof of life," (bit grim) but it's to a) make sure you're really you, and b) stop identity thieves paying for stuff with your latest instagram pic.

BUT - what about if you've got a sneaky twin who's trying to spend all your money? Or what if you get a hair cut? Or what if, like Taylor Swift, you've got a gazillion doppelgangers out there in the world?
All in all, it's apparently gonna completely clamp down on identity theft apparently, which is obviously only a good thing - but we're still a bit mind boggled as to how it'll actually work.
Thoughts?
