Kanye West has responded to backlash over his gross references to Taylor Swift in new single 'Famous', and SURPRISE SURPRISE - there's no apology. In fact, he's just made himself sound like even more of a dick.
Sorry folks, but today is the day we became well and truly disillusioned with Kanye West's bullshit. He chases headlines more than Kris Jenner, and that's really saying something.
For those who are just catching up with all the drama, it all kicked off after Kanye's new track from his latest album was unveiled at his Yeezy 3 show.
Mainly because it features the lyrics: "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex, I made that bitch famous".
Go home Yeezy - you're married, she was already WINNING a VMA when you apparently 'made her famous' and we'd like you and your sexism to leave, please.
Unsurprisingly the reaction has NOT been positive, with celebs like Ruby Rose, Gigi Hadid and Calvin Harris condemning Kanye. (Tay's brother Austin reacted by filming himself throwing a pair of Yeezy trainers in the bin. LOLZ).
Now he's responded in the form of a gazillion tweets (obviously).
He kicked things off with this:
And then this:
Errrr - doubtful, considering her official spokesperson released THIS statement, saying that while Kanye did contact Taylor, she was not made aware of all the lyrics - AND declined to promote the song via her own Twitter account.
Kanye continued:
Oh piss off.
It's called a #JOKE, darling.
He basically then droned on for a bit about censorship, and things like this being the reason music is now 'watered down'. What, opposition to sexism and misogyny, which has always been an awful theme in rap music?
OH HOW TERRIBLE. If that's called watering down, then pass us the f***ing hose, mate.
Creation is not about bringing someone else down, or about belittling women. Soz, Yeezy, it's a no from us.
